Lucas, 1st Grade
Students in first grade reviewed all the types of lines they have been learning about in art class. They identified horizontal, vertical, diagonal, curvy and zigzag lines used by a spider to make a web. Students then created their own spiderwebs. Then, after learning why primary colors are important and mixing them to make secondary colors, students painted their spiderweb pictures using the primary colors. Their white webs drawn with oil pastel showed up as they painted. Lucas chose to paint bands of color across his paper and did a wonderful job mixing orange, green and purple.

Paytin and Elizabeth, Kindergarten Just a few more adorable mouse paintings by Paytin and Elizabeth. Roclyn, 4th grade
This original design has an interesting variety of textures. The warm orange used to make the scratchboard looks like sunlight shining on the dragon's face, chest and wingtip. |
