Daylon, 5th grade
After drawing the letters of their name as three-dimensional forms using one-point perspective, students turned their names into a picture of a place. Many students made cityscapes, but Daylon came up with something unique. He turned his letters into planets, rockets and meteors. There are so many details to enjoy in his drawing. Neveah, 4th grade
Students in fourth grade explored connections between harmony in music and harmony in art. They then created a work of art that uses visual harmony, with a musical instrument as their subject. Neveah brought together her composition by drawing swirling lines in the background that repeat the f-shaped holes in the instrument. She also chose an analogous color scheme that is bright like the sound of the violin. Abby E., 2nd grade
Students in second grade studied various techniques artists use to make space in a landscape. They practiced establishing a horizon line, and using size, overlap, detail to compose an image. They then used collage to arrange a landscape that represented a region in Georgia. Zeke, Kindergarten
